BJP president Amit Shah's emphatic addressal of the rampant violence and land-grab incidents in Mathura and the migration of the Hindu community from Kairana are indicative of the fact that the party plans to use these incidents as twin emotive issues. Speaking at his inaugural presidential address at the BJP national executive meet held in Allahabad, he represented the BJP's intentions to mobilise the public opinion in their favour, and to take pole position against the Mulayam Singh Yadav-Akhilesh Yadav led Samajwadi Party (SP) government.
